Air pollutants surround schools, but in accepted ranges
NEWARK -- A handful of companies are responsible for a majority of the toxic pollutants in the air surrounding local schools, according to a USA TODAY model using data from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Owens Corning and Modern Welding in Newark, and Renosol and Clean Harbors Services in Hebron are the sources of most of the toxins, but all are in compliance with EPA standards.
